About Washington Park, Denver, CO

Washington Park is one of Denver, Colorado's oldest and most renowned parks and neighborhoods. Located very near to the city center off of Interstate 25, the 165 acre park offers a variety of activities both for citizens the neighborhood and those visiting the city. One of the most popular amenities the park offers is a beautiful flower garden that is replicated after Martha Washington's garden in Mount Vernon, Virginia. It also offers miles of walking trails, tennis courts, playground areas, two lakes and a free recreation center with an indoor pool. The park is filled with historic statues and other artwork that is representative of the city's rich history and heritage.

The Washington Park neighborhood, constructed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, features some of the oldest homes in the city as well as numerous new constructions. The majority of the homes are designed in the bungalow or craftsman styles. Tree-lined streets add to the aesthetic appeal of the neighborhood. Because of its proximity to downtown Denver, the mix of historical and newer homes, and the ample recreational opportunities, Washington Park is one of Denver's most popular and sought after neighborhoods. The recent construction of a metro stop near the park has also aided in increasing the area's popularity. Attractions include: Coors Field, and Pepsi Center.
